We are a Church of England School
We are very proud that our school is a Voluntary Controlled Church of England School. We seek to educate pupils in all aspects of the Christian religion whilst valuing the many other religions and cultures represented within our school and local community. This is one of the contributors to our children are so friendly and happy. We value each other, regardless of background or differences.
Our school assemblies and worship times are an important part of each school day, enabling the school community together for reflection and celebration. We have a full worship programme to allow for structured reflection and strengthening of values. We use the Roots and Fruits programme to ensure that our worship is high quality, but we tailor it to the need of our specific context and needs.
Our vision is linked to a Christian verse which helps give us strength when we need it:
‘I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength’ – Philippians 4:13
We are linked with St Matthew’s Church.

Our School Prayers
Our Worship Assemblies close with a prayer around a specific value.
Our Praise Assemblies close with our School Prayer:
This is Our school
Let Peace dwell here
Let the rooms be full of contentment
Let Love abide here; love of one another, love of mankind and love of God
Let us remember that although many hands build our school, it’s our many hearts that make our school.
Dear God,
Please bless our school, here at St Martin’s that by working together, playing together and learning together, we may learn to serve thee and serve one another. For Jesus’ sake. Amen
