It aligns with Sandwell’s Vision 2030, which aims to build a resilient and inclusive community for all.

What is the Sandwell Well-being Charter Mark?

The Charter Mark is a whole-school framework developed by Sandwell Council’s Educational Psychology Service and Public Health team. It supports schools in embedding mental health and well-being into every aspect of school life — for pupils, staff, and families.

To earn this award, our school followed Eco-Schools’ seven-step framework, which included:

• Forming a pupil-led Eco-Committee to drive change

• Conducting a thorough Environmental Review of our school grounds and practices

• Creating and implementing a detailed Action Plan

• Engaging with the wider community to promote eco-awareness

What is the Music Mark Award?

The Music Mark of Recognition is a new initiative launched by Music Mark in partnership with local music services. It replaces the previous Music Mark Schools Programme

Why We Were Nominated

We were nominated by our local music service in recognition of our:

• Inclusive approach, ensuring all pupils have access to musical opportunities

• Engagement with instrumental tuition, choirs, and performances

• Support for staff development and creative teaching in music

We’re delighted to announce that we have received the Modeshift STARS Approved Travel Plan Award, which is a national recognition of our commitment to promoting sustainable and active travel for our pupils, staff, and families.

What Is Modeshift STARS?

Modeshift STARS is the official national accreditation scheme for sustainable travel in education. It supports schools in developing and implementing effective travel plans that encourage walking, cycling, scooting, and public transport — helping to reduce congestion, improve air quality, and boost physical activity.

Our Journey to Accreditation

To achieve the Approved Travel Plan Award, we:

• Registered with the Modeshift STARS programme

• Created a comprehensive school travel plan outlining current travel habits and future goals

• Logged a range of initiatives including Walk to School Week, Bikeability training, and road safety workshops

This award marks the beginning of our journey toward becoming a greener, healthier school. It reflects our dedication to:
