Road Safety Assemblies
Today, we had a visit from Sophie Lounds to talk to us about Road Safety.
In the session for EYFS and KS1 we learned about how to cross the road safely, by walking with an adult and using a zebra crossing or crossing with our lolly pop lady, Sheila.
We used a song to remember to - Stop, Look, Listen and THINK before we cross the road!
In the session for years 4, 5 and 6 we learned:
*How to cross the road safely -Stop, Look, Listen and THINK
*Booster seats are needed to up 135cm tall
*E-Scooters are illegal on public land unless you have a driving licence and insurance. We found out you can't buy insurance for an E-Scooter, so they can only be used on private property.
We talked a lot about how to cross the road safely with Sheila, our lolly pop lady. Did you know she has been doing her job for 37 years? Sophie said she is the best in Sandwell and we definitely agree!
She also said that she visits all 123 schools in Sandwell, and our children are the most respectful she has seen.
She will be back soon to complete some pedestrian training with Year 1 and some transition work with Year 6 before they leave for secondary school.
